Celtic-K9 provides the following
services to our clients:
Behavior Modification
Behavior modification is what I do to reshape an undesired behavior (e.g. stopping your dog from jumping,
barking, digging and marking) into a desired behavior without using any forms of compulsive
corrections.
Basic Obedience
Basic obedience is the most important thing you should ever do with any dog. Basic obedience is the teaching of
leadership to the owner and cues to the dog such as sit, down, stay, and
come.
Canine Good Citizen
AKC’s Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Program, started in 1989, is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home
and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership
for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from
the American Kennel Club.
Socialization
As dogs grow, they go through many developmental periods. The events that occur during each of these periods can
greatly affect the rest of their lives. It is important to be aware of the significance of each developmental
period because the types of training may differ accordingly.
Dogs who do not receive adequate socialization during the socialization period can sometimes be rehabilitated, but
the process can be time-consuming and laborious. Dogs who are not properly socialized have a much greater chance of
biting someone.
